A Mun!

"A Mun" is short for 'Swift Uprising', the Chinese name my grandmother used to call me as a child. She was always yelling, but only in the endearing way that all old chinese ladies yell, hence the exclamation.

Marathon Marriage of the Day: Avid runners Mary and Raymond Donaldson, who participated in yesterday’s New York City Marathon, took the opportunity to get married while running the course.

With the help of an Ironman-cum-minister to officiate, the couple tied the knot on Mile 22 in sight of friends and family.

Asked what made them want to get married during the marathon, Mary responded, “we met running, so we thought that would be appropriate.”

Meanwhile, in what is fast becoming an annual tradition, the MTA has compiled a lovely time-lapse look at the record-breaking number of Marathon runners as they crossed the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge — the Marathon’s starting point since 1976:

Why do people do shit like this? Fauja Singh (Toronto’s 100 yr old marathon runner) is inspiring, but this is … what… suppose to be funny? I guess it can be. I’ll never understand.
